Future Ready Iowa

  • Employer Innovation Fund - for our partners to carry out creative solutions that address local workforce issues. It encourages employers, community leaders, and others to lead efforts for developing regional workforce talent pools. Employers can promote credit and non-credit education and training opportunities in high-demand jobs. The fund can be used in innovative ways to help Iowans achieve their training and education goals. Employer Innovation Fund applications must be submitted through www.IowaGrants.gov(link is external) by Feb. 12, 2021. 
  • Child Care Challenge - will support regional and community projects to establish local childcare facilities and increase the availability of quality, affordable childcare for working Iowans. Applications must be submitted on www.IowaGrants.gov(link is external) by Feb. 12, 2021.

United States Department of Agriculture (USDA)

  • USDA plans to make the grants available under the Community Facilities Technical Assistance and Training Grant Program, subject to the availability of funding. Through this program, rural communities with limited staff and resources can build the capacity needed to access USDA funding to support essential community facilities.USDA plans to make the grants available under the Community Facilities Technical Assistance and Training Grant Program, subject to the availability of funding. Funds may be used to help rural communities identify financial resources, improve the management of community facilities, and prepare reports, surveys and applications. Eligible recipients are public entities, private nonprofit organizations and federally recognized tribes. Paper applications must be postmarked and mailed, shipped or sent overnight by 4:00 p.m. local time on March 29, 2021. Electronic applications must be submitted via grants.gov by midnight Eastern time on March 22, 2021.

U.S. Small Business Administration

  • Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) - a forgivable loan program to help very small businesses, such as child care programs. From February 24 to March 10, 2021, only businesses with fewer than 20 employees can apply for a PPP loan. This exclusive application period allows participating lenders to focus on serving very small businesses, such as family child care (FCC) educators and early care and education (ECE) programs.

WAGE$® Iowa

  • WAGE$® offers salary supplements (also called stipends) to the early care and education workforce, based on the individual's level of formal education and commitment to their program. Thanks to funds from the Iowa Department of Human Services, Child Care WAGE$® IOWA will be available in all 99 Iowa counties effective July 1, 2021 and not guaranteed beyond June 30, 2022.
