Dear Child Care Provider,
Click here to complete the June data collection from on your cell phone, computer, or tablet to update your child care program’s desired capacity and vacancies information. The form will take you 5 minutes or less to complete. The deadline to complete the form is June 14, 2024. Why is it important for you to update this information about your program… continue reading and see a ‘sneak peek’ of the new, online child care search application launching soon!
If you completed the form last month, your desired capacity and vacancy responses will pre-populate. Review the information and make any updates, as needed. If you didn’t complete the data collection form last month, complete the questions for your program.
NOTE: Desired capacity is the number of children you can care for in your child care program at one time based on your current staffing resources and physical space available. Desired capacity may be less than your licensed/registered or non-registered capacity, but it cannot be more than your licensed/registered or non-registered capacity.
Not sure how to complete the form? Click here to watch a short video on how to complete it. If you have any questions, check out this link for Frequently Asked Questions about the project and the data collection form. You can also submit your questions using this form or contact your CCR&R Child Care Consultant.
SNEAK PEEK… HHS will soon be launching a new, online child care search application to help families find child care openings and help your program fill openings faster! The information you provide in the data collection form updates your openings for this new child care search application and your program’s profile in CCR&R’s database. Watch for the announcement that will include scheduled webinar demos to learn more about the new child care search application and child care dashboards.
Also IMPORTANT to complete in the month of June… The questions on the data collection form are one part of your child care program’s profile in CCR&R’s database. The new child care search application will use some information in your program’s profile to allow families to compare your program with other child care programs. (i.e., offers transportation, accepts CCA, hours of operation, etc.) Click here to review and make any needed updates to your child care program’s profile. More information about the importance of updating your profile and a video on how to log into the CCR&R database can be found here.
Thanks for all you do, Julie Allison Child Care Bureau Chief Division of Family Well-Being and Protection Iowa Department of Health and Human Services
