Dear Child Care Provider,
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is in the process of developing the 2025-2027 Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) State Plan. The CCDF program is the primary federal funding source to support low-income families with child care and increase the quality of child care for all children. The State Plan, which is submitted every three years, is the State’s application for CCDF funds and describes the State’s compliance with federal CCDF regulations. The official 2025-2027 CCDF State Plan form was released on 3/18/2024 and is due on 6/30/2024.
We are holding a focus group for child care providers on April 26 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. to discuss the 2025-2027 CCDF State Plan and obtain provider feedback. If you are interested in providing feedback to Iowa’s CCDF State Plan you can register for the focus group on the HHS website at hhs.iowa.gov/events/child-care-provider-focus-group.
If you are not able to attend the focus group there will be an additional opportunity for you to provide feedback through the public comment process. A draft of the CCDF State Plan will be released no later than May 15, 2024, and a Public Hearing will be held on June 5 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. All individuals can provide comments and/or attend the Public Hearing. More details regarding the Public Hearing, including a virtual link and the in-person location, will be released with the draft of the CCDF State Plan in May.
Thank you in advance for your feedback and for all that you do for young children in Iowa.
Sincerely,
Wendy Hoogeveen Child Care Program Manager, Team Lead Iowa Department of Health and Human Services
