Data Collection for Iowa's Child Care Centers, Child Development Homes and Child Care Homes accepting Child Care Assistance

April 1, 2024

Dear Child Care Provider,

The monthly data collection form is now available for APRIL for you to update your child care program’s desired capacity and vacancies information. If you completed the form in March, your responses to the desired capacity and vacancy questions will pre-populate. Review the information and make any updates, as needed. If you didn’t previously complete the data collection form, complete the questions for your program’s desired capacity and vacancies.

Not sure about how to complete the form? Click here to watch a short video on how to complete it. The form will take you 5 minutes or less to complete.

NOTE: Desired capacity is the number of children you can care for in your child care program at one time based on your current staffing resources and physical space available. Desired capacity may be less than your licensed/registered or non-registered capacity, but it cannot be more than your licensed/registered or non-registered capacity.

Click here to complete the data collection form on your computer, tablet, or cell phone. The deadline to complete the form is April 12, 2024.

If you have any questions, check out this link for Frequently Asked Questions about the project and the data collection form. You can also submit your questions using this form or contact your CCR&R Child Care Consultant.

Thank you for caring for Iowa’s children and for helping make Iowa’s child care information more complete. Ultimately, you are helping families spend less time searching for child care and helping keep your child care program fully enrolled.

NOTE: The questions on the data collection form are one part of your child care program’s profile that is stored by CCR&R. Please click here to make other updates to your child care program’s profile. More information about the importance of updating your profile and a video on how to log into NDS can be found here

Thanks for all you do,

Julie Allison
