Guidance in Response to COVID-19

March 29, 2021

Dear Child Care Providers,

The Department of Human Services (DHS) has updated child care guidance (dated 3/24/21) in response to COVID-19. This guidance has been developed in close consultation with the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH). The health and safety of children, family, staff, and child care providers is of the utmost importance. Child care programs provide essential support for working families.

In addition to the updated guidance, DHS and IDPH have updated instructions for COVID-19 case reporting. This includes whom to contact, descriptions of close contact, and what to do when positive tests happen.
