November 30 Update
November 3, 2021
Hello Child Care Providers,
Today, Governor Reynolds had both a press conference and issued a press release related to child care in Iowa. A number of recommendations have been made by the Child Care Task Force and the Department of Human Services (DHS) will be actively working on many of these. Please visit this link to see the final report issued by the Child Care Task Force. DHS will be utilizing the Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R) constant contact and DHS website to provide updates regarding each recommendation.
Many of you are very interested in Iowa’s timeline for stabilization grants. Iowa was allocated $220 million from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) to provide stabilization subgrants to current licensed and registered child care providers. DHS has contracted with a partner agency to help support a provider-friendly and efficient application process. This web-based application will be available in the upcoming weeks and DHS will send notification when the application is available. This information will also be available on our website.
Thank you for your patience as we roll out the stabilization grant opportunity.
Sincerely, Julie Allison Child Care Bureau Chief Division of Adult, Children & Family Services Iowa Department of Human Services
