Message for Iowa Child Care Programs:
The services provided by child care programs are critical. The Department of Human Services (DHS) thanks you for your ongoing service and commitment to children, families and your community; despite the many challenges and uncertainties associated with the COVID-19 crisis.
While child care programs continue to work diligently on ensuring quality, safe care to children during the pandemic, DHS would like to announce we are further extending expiration dates for the Quality Rating System (QRS).
Child care programs with a QRS expiration date that falls within the above time period are still able, and encouraged, to renew their rating as they are able. With the extension of the QRS expiration date, we hope to ensure child care programs have enough time and resources to focus on the unique challenges facing your program and the ongoing needs of children in care.
If you have specific questions regarding your QRS rating or need additional guidance for any other child care related matter, please reach out to your DHS licensing consultant and/or your local CCR&R agency for assistance.
