Dear Child Care Providers,
Child care programs provide an essential support for working families. At this critical time, we must ensure these vital resources withstand a pandemic while keeping children and their families safe. To assist in this effort the Department of Human Services (DHS) is modifying Child Care Assistance billing policies to allow providers to bill additional absence days.
Current billing policies limit absent day billing at 4 days per month per eligible child. Effective the billing period starting 3/9/2020 the Department of Human Services will not limit the amount of absence days paid per month. Providers must still follow absence billing policies and only bill absences for times that the child was scheduled to be in your care.
