October Funding Opportunities

Dear Child Care Providers,

The Department of Human Services is pleased to announce that there was sufficient CARES funding available to provide Funding Opportunities for the month of October. The table below summarizes the opportunities available.

PLEASE NOTE: This will be the last month that the Department will have sufficient CARES funding to be able to offer these funding opportunities. The Department will continue to assess if there is funding available to provide future funding opportunities.

Funding Opportunity What Types of Programs are Eligible? How do I "Apply"?

October Rejuvenation Grants
Centers: $1,500
CDH: $600

Licensed Centers/Preschools

Registered Child Development Homes(CDH)

Program must have closed due to COVID-19 and want to re-open. Complete eligibility requirements can be found on the Funding Opportunities webpage.

Complete the “Rejuvenation Grant Survey” by October 31, 2020. It is found on the Funding Opportunities webpage.
October Basic Monthly Stipend
Centers: $2,000
CDH: $500

Licensed Centers/Preschools

Registered Child Development Homes(CDH)

Program must be open and serving families. Complete eligibility requirements can be found on the Funding Opportunities webpage.

Complete the “Monthly Stipend Survey” by October 31, 2020. It is found on the Funding Opportunities webpage.

Essential Employee Add-On
Centers: $2,000
CDH: $500

Licensed Centers/Preschools

Registered Child Development Homes (CDH)

Programs must be open, serving families and willing to give a 25% discount to families that have an adult who is an essential employee. Complete eligibility requirements can be found on the Funding Opportunities webpage.

October Unlimited Child Care Assistance Absences

All programs with a current Child Care Assistance (CCA) Provider Agreement. When completing CCA billing, providers mark absent days for days that children were scheduled to be in care but did not attend. This will be included in the program’s regular CCA payment.

Reimbursing Family Co-Payments

This will end on 10/4/20.

All programs with a current Child Care Assistance (CCA) Provider Agreement.

This will automatically be calculated by DHS based on attendance records and checks will be sent to providers.

NOTE: Billing deadline for this is 11/16/20. To receive co-pay reimbursements provider must have all applicable billing periods submitted by this date.
