MCART Training

Child care providers play a critical role in keeping children safe. They are required to attend this Iowa-specific training to learn how to identify the signs of child abuse and the steps needed to report incidents.

The Department of Human Services (DHS) released a new online webinar for Mandatory Child Abuse Reporter Training (MCART) which is available on this Iowa DHS Training website.

The initial training is 2 hours with a 1 hour renewal training every 3 years, if the date on the training certificate has not expired. Current MCART certifications are valid until date of expiration.
