Notice from DHS regarding ECERS-3 assessments:
The authors of the Environment Rating Scales recently published a third edition of the Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale (ECERS-3). Iowa State University Extension and Outreach began offering ECERS-3 training in September of 2016. Beginning July 1, 2017 programs going for a level 5 rating in Iowa's Quality Rating System will have a choice of ECERS-R or ECERS-3 for their assessments. All programs will receive an ECERS-3 assessment when the new QRIS begins (date TBD).
