Iowa law requires child care providers to have a written emergency plan in place by October 1, 2016.  There are templates and tools available for child care providers to help meet your program's needs. You are not required to use any of the templates and tools offered, although the tools and templates will help you meet requirements in Iowa law.

A central component of the requirements of the standard is the development of an exposure control plan (ECP).  The intent of this model is to provide small employers with an easy-to-use format for developing a written exposure control plan.

Injury Report Form Form from Healthy Child Care Iowa for child care staff or registered child development home to use to document an injury or accident. One copy is to be kept in the child’s file and one copy given to the parent or guardian.
