This year the Iowa Legislature directed Iowa Department of Human Services (DHS) to increase the rate tables for all registered and licensed child care providers by 2%. The effective date of the new rates is January 1, 2013. While the rate table reflects the maximum that can be paid to a provider by the Child Care Assistance (CCA) program, the state cannot be charged more for a child who receives CCA than is charged to families not receiving assistance ("private pay").
